Mackerel is a pelagic, fast-swimming fish that moves in large shoals. The mackerel lacks a swim bladder and must swim continuously to regulate buoyancy and to get enough oxygenated water flowing through the gills. Due to changes in the temperature of the ocean, mackerel has altered its migration pattern and is now also found in Arctic waters. Rich in omega-3 acids, mackerel makes the top list of healthy products.
